Good plans an hour from major cities

65% of French people who wish to move also think they will do so in the next twelve months to gain in quality of life.

And for 95% of them, the journey time by car or transport should not exceed one hour.

Their desire?

Buy a house for 70% of them with an average budget of 262,000 euros (286,000 euros around large cities, 348,000 euros for Parisians).

"This shows that there is no urban exodus to the countryside," says the expert.

If Parisians are ready to move away, for example, there is no question of going to live in the provinces but rather of staying in Ile-de-France and even in the inner suburbs, already known to be a postponement market ”.

Carried out among 1,135 people representative of the French population between March 25 and 28, 2021, this survey allows the comparator to outline good plans where to invest within an hour of large cities such as Paris, Marseille, Lyon or Bordeaux. So less than an hour from Paris, it is still possible to afford a house of nearly 140 m2 in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-Marne) or 115 m2 in Blanc-Mesnil (Seine-Saint -Denis) for a Parisian budget.

Close to Lyon, it is better to aim for Bourgoin-Jallieu and Vienne (Isère) or Libourne and Lormont (Gironde) less than an hour from Bordeaux for comparable lengths and a budget of 286,000 euros. In the vicinity of Marseille, Marignane and Vitrolles (Bouches-du-Rhône) offer the most interesting purchasing power, according to the comparator, even if the houses do not exceed 85 m2 at this price.
