Health measures are becoming more flexible, allowing a gradual return to the office, but teleworking has become permanently established in the daily life of companies.
This is particularly the case at Renault.
The automaker has signed an agreement with the unions that will allow several thousand employees to work from home up to three days a week, the company said on Friday.

said Renault, adding that it would provide support and training on how best to work remotely. The hybrid system will be voluntary and based on two working days from home per week, with an additional day at the discretion of the manager.
20,000 employees will be eligible for the remote work offer which concerns Renault SAS and its subsidiary Renault digital. If many positions are concerned, it will mainly be those in the tertiary sector, in other words so-called office positions, explains Renault, contacted by
Le Figaro
. However, even within factories, some employees will be able to telecommute.
“On the one hand, it will be all the functions that are not on the production line, such as administration, human resources or even communication. On the other hand, we can imagine that a workshop foreman who has to make his report every two weeks to his office can set up a day of teleworking to write it at home ”,

Rival carmaker, Stellantis, has entered into similar agreements with its French workers.
"The ideal is two and a half days a week"
The future of the workplace is the subject of much debate after the coronavirus pandemic forced many offices to close and proved how many tasks can now be performed by staff from their own homes.
However, the practice is not new at Renault, assures the French manufacturer which has conducted surveys of its employees.
“What came out of it was that the ideal for them was two and a half days a week of teleworking,” one
says.
A previous agreement signed in 2019 already allowed employees to work from home two days a week.

The new agreement provides for financial assistance of 200 euros in the form of a single grant to help employees equip their homes (head office, screen, etc.) to telework under the best conditions.
A monthly lump sum allowance of 20 to 30 euros per month, depending on whether the employee takes two or three days to work outside the company, is also provided.
