The French renewable electricity producer Voltalia announced on Thursday a solar electricity supply contract for a power of 350 megawatts with the car manufacturer Renault, enough to cover half of its electricity consumption in the long term.
Voltalia believes that this is the largest renewable electricity supply contract plan ever signed in France between a producer and a company.
“
The contract covers a total capacity of 350 megawatts representing the production of approximately 500 gigawatt hours per year.
With a duration of 15 years, this is an unprecedented commitment in France in terms of power
,” explained Voltalia.
Voltalia produces and sells electricity from its wind, solar, hydraulic, biomass and storage facilities.

Thanks to the photovoltaic panels that will be installed on its sites by Voltalia, the capacity made available to Renault will be 100 MW in 2025 and will reach 350 MW by 2027, enabling Renault to cover "
up to 50% of consumption of electricity from its activities
", emphasizes Voltalia.
The automaker wants to halve the carbon emissions of its sites by 2030, compared to 2019.
