A resolution submitted by the US Congressional non-partisan lawmakers was passed by the House of Representatives on the 24th to promote relations between Japan and Korea. The Senate will have a similar resolution in April.

According to the resolution, the South Korea ’s comprehensive military information protection agreement (GSOMIA), which notified Japan of destruction, was “important for the security of this region in the United States, and information sharing among the three countries is essential for cooperation between alliances.” Japan and South Korea are urging Japan-Korea relations to improve, as the “constructive and positive relationship” will benefit the United States.

The resolution was decided in February of this year when the relations between Japan and South Korea deteriorated due to the ruling of the Korean High Court (Supreme Court) that granted damages to the former contributors, and the issue of fire control radar on the Maritime Self-Defense Force patrol aircraft. Elliott Engel's diplomatic chairman (democrat) and others submitted. (Washington)
