Participation in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia was around 36 percent in eight selected districts and cities at 12 noon on Sunday.

This was announced by state returning officer Wolfgang Schellen based on spot checks in the districts of Düren and Gütersloh, in the Rhine district of Neuss and in the independent cities of Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Essen, Cologne and Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Düsseldorf – In the 2017 state elections, around 34 percent had voted by 12 p.m. or had voted by post.

The state returning officer announced that participation in the state elections in these selected areas was about the same as in 2017.

At the end of election day in 2017, a turnout of 65.2 percent was recorded.

In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, 128 constituencies vote.
