At the start of the Bayernliga relegation round, the Dorfener Eispiraten suffered a defeat on Friday evening.

Dorfen – The namesake from Geretsried, who arrived almost with the best cast, had to admit defeat again badly decimated ESC Dorfen on Friday evening 2:5 (1:2, 0:0, 1:3).

While things looked increasingly better for the Ice Pirates in the last games of the main round, they had to put up with personal setbacks just at the start of this relegation round. With captain Christian Göttlicher and Tomas Vrba, decisive drivers were missing in the first two lines of attack. In addition, goalkeeper Luca Endres and attacking defender Benedikt Dietrich had to pass.

Dorfen got into the game very well and immediately fired on the guest goal. After Andreas Marek was the winner in the ESC goal against Geretsried's Florian Strobl, Lukas Kirsch scored in return for a 1-0 lead. Gasper Susanj failed a little later to Martin Morcinietz in the guest goal. Outnumbered, Simon Franz only hit the post. Barely complete, the Riverrats had already equalized through Daniel Bursch. And this pattern repeated itself. At the next guest penalty, Sandro Schroepfer played his way through with a great solo, but missed. Coming from the penalty box, Ondrej Horvatzh staged an attack, which he completed 27 seconds later to make it 2-1 for the Riverrats after a good nine minutes. The ice pirates hardly came up with any constructive attacks until the break.

Back from the dressing room, they immediately recorded the first big goal chance through Max Huber and a little later they were outnumbered again. There weren't any noteworthy chances to score, and the remaining 15 minutes of this third were almost exclusively towards the Dorfener Heiligtum. Three penalties, almost one minute of which was double the number, also played into the hands of the guests. But they didn't sting against badass Marek in the ice pirate goal, who also had the necessary luck and the aluminum on his side.

The guests revised this usury of chances from the beginning of the final third.

47 seconds were played when Strobl scored to make it 3-1, and another 95 seconds later a shot from a boy went through friend and foe alike.

Outnumbered, the Ice Pirates also had to swallow Michael Harrer's 1:5 lead (48').

Penalty minutes hailed on both sides as a result, and Dorfen reared up again.

It wasn't enough for more than Schroepfer's majority hit.
