Rome risks becoming "an urban jungle". Msgr. (HANDLE)

(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, 07 JUL - Rome risks becoming "an urban jungle".

Msgr.

Benoni Ambarus, auxiliary bishop of the city, speaking of urban decay which would require from the institutions "a step of dignity to make choices that know the future, not the electoral round".

The bishop also asks the citizens not to fall into "human degradation", but he admits: "the Romans really do a daily survival course!".

Speaking of the political management of the capital, Ambarus told Vatican News: "With crossed paths it seems to me that we are falling into provincialism" and "this is not tolerable for politics".

The degradation of Rome is making life more and more difficult for the citizens who live there.

"I think that the Romans should also be given a prize because they arrive at the end of the week without having 'bothered' too much with respect to the obstacles they have to face on all fronts. We must all start talking - says Mgr. Ambarus - to unmask these dynamics and perhaps, slowly, we will realize this and we will begin to make a turnaround ".
