The Hapoel BS striker is not counted under Roni Levy, but flourishes under Eliniv Barda • In an exclusive interview with "Israel Hayom" before Craiova in the Conference League, the player who scored three times in Europe marks the dream: "to wear the national team's uniform"

At an altitude of tens of thousands of meters, Rotem Hatuel opened up for a conversation at eye level, on his way to Hapoel Beer Sheva's first playoff game this evening (Thursday) in Romania, with the aim of realizing the club's European dream.

Hatuel is undoubtedly one of the most colorful and active actors on social networks.

"What happens there reflects my character. This is an opportunity for me for the fans to get to know me, and not just on the grass. This color is part of who I am."

Is it good for a career?

"In the end, I also think that it is good for my career; I play football in a happy way, feel connected to the crowd and don't think there is anything wrong with it. In the end, I am first and foremost an athlete and nothing is more important to me than success - both team and personal."

He started his career as a footballer in Kiryat Shmona, and went through several teams until he landed in B.S. two years ago, a move that undoubtedly did good for both parties, but there is no doubt that Hatuel benefited.

"When I arrived at the school, it was still during the Corona period and I was just waiting for the moment when the audience would return to the stands.

Now they fill 'Toto Turner' almost on a weekly basis, and there is nothing more fun than entering a full stadium and feeling the boost they give us.

The energy and love only make me push myself to the limit and want to improve my game even more."

Hatuel, who was not exactly counted with Roni Levy, started to take off and get more playing minutes with Eliniv Barda and finished the last season with 9 goals in all formats, including in the semi-finals and the final of the State Cup.

The professional change was good for you.

"It's true, but I always worked hard in training and I knew that hard work would bring the opportunity. When Eliniv Mona was appointed, there was a different energy in the team. Personally, I got more minutes and in the end I was able to return my productivity on the grass in the decisive stages of the season."

"A lot of these things are thanks to Eliniv and Maor. Eliniv backs us up, and that gives us confidence and a feeling that someone is behind us all the time," he added.

Mental coach: Malikson

After regaining his playing minutes with Barda's help, Hatuel is ready to talk for the first time about the special relationship between him and Maor Malikson: "This is an opportunity to thank him for who he is to me. For the professional and mental support I receive from him. He is a football legend and an amazing personality. He and Eliniv are together in the coaching positions It's big for us, and I'm sure for the fans too."

Hatuel, who is in excellent form, started the current season exactly as he finished the previous one - in an excellent European campaign with three goals in four games, and quite a bit is under his responsibility.

"I feel in good shape, both in terms of ability and in terms of scoring goals. I'm always ready to go up and play when I'm called and try to influence the game, whether it's by scoring goals or in any other way that will help the team qualify for home games in the Conference League and meet the other goals."

Just before landing on the ground, Hatuel talks about his big dream to play in the national team: "It has always been my dream, and I am ready to work very hard to make it come true. "I am in a position on a field that has many good players, so the competition is very high.

I know that in order to play in the national team I have to show a high ability consistently and that's what I will do," he concluded.
