Russian Andrei Rublev put his country close to winning the Davis Cup, after defeating Croatian Borna Gogo today.
Rublev defeated Gogo in the first singles competition in the final of the competition with a score of 6-4, 7-6.
US Open champion Daniil Medvedev's victory over 2014 champion Marin Cilic in the second singles match later in the day will be enough for Russia to win the Davis Cup for the third time in its history.
The Davis Cup final will be held on hard courts in the Spanish capital Madrid, after the group stage and the knockout stages were held in Spain, the Italian cities of Turin and Austria's Innsbruck over a week and a half.
