Russian President Vladimir Putin has been accused of sexist attitudes towards CNBC reporter Hadley Gamble. Putin called the reporter "beautiful" and "pretty" and then suggested that she didn't understand what she was saying. The subject of the dispute was gas prices and the interview took place during the Russian energy week.
"She is a beautiful woman, really pretty. But I tell her one thing and she immediately tells me the opposite, as if she had not heard what I said," Putin noted during the debate. "We are increasing supplies to Europe, Gazprom alone by 10%. Russia has increased supplies by 15%.
We are increasing, not decreasing, supplies.
Did I really say something so difficult to understand? "Putin stressed after being pressed on the matter by the journalist.
