The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country's experts have begun the process of manufacturing a new missile ship for the Pacific Fleet of the Russian army.
And the website of Russia Today channel quoted a statement issued by the service as saying, “The Russian Amur factory witnessed a ceremony dedicated to starting the process of manufacturing a new missile ship,” noting that this frigate is the third ship that the factory is developing for the Russian army.
The statement stated that in 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed contracts with the Amur Factory to develop two frigates within the framework of the government project 20380 and four frigates within the framework of Project 20385. Twelfth of June last.
The length of each of the mentioned ships is about 104 meters, its width is 13 meters, and its displacement of water is 2,200 tons. These ships can move at a speed of 27 knots and travel a distance of 3,500 nautical miles in each mission.
The armament of these ships includes platforms for launching Russian winged Kalibr and Onyx missiles, as well as two AK630M 30-mm machine gun systems and torpedo launch systems.
