The Russian Defense Ministry announced that Ukrainian forces bombed the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
In its statement, the ministry indicated that "Ukrainian armed groups carried out three artillery bombardments on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar by firing about twenty 152 mm shells."
She noted that the shelling was carried out by one of the units of the 45th Artillery Brigade of the Ukrainian army from firing positions near the village of Marganets, which is controlled by Kyiv forces.
And the Russian defense warned that the artillery bombardment of the Ukrainian army on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant could lead to a major fire and radiological accidents.
"Fortunately, the Ukrainian missiles did not hit the nearby oil and fuel facilities and oxygen plant, which prevented a major fire and possible radiological accident at Europe's largest nuclear power plant."
The ministry called on international organizations to condemn the criminal actions of the Kyiv regime, which is carrying out “acts of nuclear terrorism,” noting that “in the event of further provocations at the nuclear power plant, the entire responsibility for the malfunction in its work lies with the Kyiv regime.”
