As is well known, a picture says more than a thousand words.

A flock of sheep used for propaganda in the Ukraine war should therefore be remembered.

Makhachkala - Would Sheep Support the Ukraine War?

A constituent republic of Russia has released a questionable PR video.

It features sheep with a painted "Z" - the pro-war symbol.

According to press reports, the clip from the Ministry of Agriculture of Dagestan in the Caucasus appeared on June 21 on the ministry's Telegram channel, but was deleted after media coverage.

This is reported, among other things, by the dpa news agency.

Sheep for the Ukraine War?

"Russian laws do not allow us to joke"

A flock of sheep can be seen being transferred from one pasture to the other.

All sheep have a black Z painted on their fur.

The Internet medium

Baza

, where the video can still be viewed after the ministry deleted it, ironically commented on the unfortunate choice of sheep as a means of advertising the war: "Russian laws do not allow us to make a joke about this video."

BBC journalist Francis Starr also tweeted the video:

Russia's republic of Dagestan loses many soldiers in the Ukraine war

According to national statistics, most of the Russian soldiers killed in military action in Ukraine come from Dagestan.

The regional leadership has confirmed the deaths of around 150 Dagestanis in the war.

Unofficially, the numbers are likely to be significantly higher.

Russia last reported its own losses at the end of March.

At that time, the Ministry of Defense gave the number of 1,351 dead.

The government in Kyiv is now talking about more than 30,000 Russian soldiers who have died.

The information cannot be verified independently.
