Tragic law of series in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Three people have died drowned in the last 24 hours in the departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie, firefighters said on Sunday.

A 19-year-old man drowned on Friday afternoon while bathing in Lac du Bourget, Savoie, on the unsupervised beach of Brison-Saint-Innocent.

The emergency services had managed to get him out of the water and revive him at first, but the young victim finally died in the hospital of Chambéry.

A second body found in Lake Bourget

Saturday morning, firefighters recovered the lifeless body of a 69-year-old man who was swimming in Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie).

The emergency services had been alerted by witnesses who had seen him drown.

A few hours later, Saturday evening, the body of a 32-year-old man was found 30 m deep in Lake Aiguebelette (Savoie), after several hours of research.

The firefighters had been alerted at the end of the afternoon by a friend with whom he was paddling, who had seen it sink.

The dramatic toll could be revised upwards.

On Saturday morning, the body of a 50-year-old woman was also found in Lac du Bourget.

For the time being, the causes of his death have not been established.

They will have to be determined later by the gendarmes.
