The footballers of SC Kirchdorf saved themselves with a 2:1 victory at TSV Au in the relegation.

The Hallertauer have to start the course in the district class.

Au/Hallertau

– The 260 fans at Auer Hauptschulplatz saw a thrilling, highly dramatic season finale between two teams threatened with relegation.

The guests of SC Kirchdorf had the better end in the 2:1 success in the truest sense of the word, who sent TSV Au into the district class and saved themselves in the relegation.

For a long time in the first half, the SCK kickers didn't look as if they would get the necessary threesome.

In addition, Auer scored the 1-0 lead with practically the first chance (12th).

Alex Schwarz shot at the Kirchdorf goal, keeper Hans Maier unhappily clapped to the side, Dominic Schermbach put the ball in the middle and Michael Huber executed.

SCK had more of a share of the game, but apart from a shot from Peter Hannich and a header from Thomas Hadler, they were hardly dangerous.

But Au had the best opportunities to extend the lead before the break with Huber (22'), Schwarz (34'), Schermbach (37') and Tim Bausch (41').

Kirchdorf uses the momentum

In the second half, the Auer started to behave.

They wanted to lurk for counterattacks - and that backfired: When SCK crossed a ball into the sixteen through Markus Trost, two defenders missed clearing it, and Samuel Nierhaus scored the equalizer very coolly (60').

The momentum was finally on the side of the guests.

With the next ball from the right, Robert Kittl extended the bounce in the direction of the far post, where Daniel Schuhmann scored to give Kirchdorf a 2-1 lead (69').

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

High tension in injury time

After that, both teams were on edge.

TSV Au came again – but Florian Münsterer's header after a corner from Schwarz was just decapitated off the line and Schermbach aimed just over the bar from twelve yards out.

Referee Wolfgang Inderwies and his team had to intervene several times in the closing stages to prevent a pack from forming on the sidelines.

In the lush overtime, Schuhmann and Hadler could have scored the third goal for the guests.

"A bitter defeat for us because we missed scoring the goals in the first half," explained TSV trainer Karl Höpfl after the match.
