At SC Massenhausen, three homegrown players provide a breath of fresh air.

Due to the tense personnel situation, minutes could jump out at the start of the season.

Massenhausen

– Three newcomers made the leap from their own youth into the first team in preparation for SC Massenhausen.

At the start of the season, the three could solve the Massenhausen personnel problems.

"I'm just happy to be there on Sunday," says 18-year-old Labro Grohmann.

His first competitive game with the men is on Sunday – a reason to look forward to it.

Together with his friends Nico Kratzl and Elias Jungmeier, who are the same age, he has been playing in Massenhausen since the F youth.

SCM coach Tobas Sigl was her trainer when she was young.

This summer they then denied the first real preparation for men.

"The training is physically more strenuous and it's definitely faster than when I was young," says Grohmann.

"It's also more aggressive.

All of a sudden you’re going into a running duel against well-trained 28-year-olds,” says Kratzl.

SC Massenhausen: Trainer Sigl certifies the three talents "a big leap"

He's even played a few games in the men's division and found a new position there.

Coach Sigl ordered him up front, and in his youth he played central defender or libero.

"It's also more fun, even if I still have to get used to the running paths," says the hopeful youngster.

Unlike Grohmann and Jungmeier, Kratzl will not be there on Sunday – he is on vacation in Italy until next week.

But the other two have good chances of being used.

Because the team from Massenhausen is somewhat stricken in terms of personnel.

"The squad is manageable at the moment," says coach Tobias Sigl.

Many injuries, Corona and vacation are the reasons.

"The chances of being called up are pretty good there." Because Sigl has been quite happy with his new signings so far: "A lot has happened compared to the first training session.

Some of them have already made a big leap.” Grohmann and Kratzl could help in different places.

"Labro is very fast and gets into the duel well and Nico is a strong technician," he praises his protégés.

That can help in the game against the promotion favorites from Reichertshausen: “They will definitely be at the top of the table.

That's why we have to make sure that we get through the fight and don't concede a goal.” BY SEBASTIAN BERGSTEINER
