German Chancellor Olaf Scholz declared that the West's goal in Ukraine is for Moscow not to emerge victorious... and setting any other goals would be a mistake in light of Russia's nuclear power.
"We should be concerned about the escalation of the war in Ukraine, but this should not paralyze us and we should be able to take reasonable, conscious, bold and very smart decisions," Schulz said in a statement to German broadcaster RTL.
Schultz added that the West's goals in Ukraine were for Russia not to emerge victorious from this conflict, but setting other goals would be a mistake in light of the fact that Russia is a nuclear power.
And Schulz has previously stressed the importance of resuming negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in order to quickly reach a peaceful settlement of the crisis in Ukraine.
