Schwangau - Many participants now gathered in front of the town hall to go to the fair on the occasion of the anniversary of veteran and soldier comradeship.
Pastor Christian Wolf, who had just recently taken over the parish community Forggensee, asked whether such traditions should be retained, whether Germany still needs soldiers, whether German soldiers should be deployed abroad and whether sponsorships between units of the Bundeswehr and communities are necessary . Because the anniversary of the veteran and soldier comradeship in Schwangau was also associated with the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the sponsorship between the community of Schwangau and the 1st Company of the Mountain Reconnaissance Battalion 230 from Füssen. According to the new pastor, all of these questions must be answered with “yes” so that Germany can continue to lead a life in peace, freedom and security.
After the mass, the 1st chairman Peter Bardzinski and Willi Röck laid wreaths in honor of all fallen soldiers at the memorial of the community for the members of the former 2nd Naval NCOs Preschool Hohenschwangau.
There were also three rounds of salute from the gun and the song “The Good Comrade” from the Schwangau band.
On the march back, the band played several marches while stopping at the mountain hunter fountain in Kröb, which was decorated and framed by burning torches.
The numerous guests who had gathered there gave the touching scene a worthy setting.
Afterwards, a sociable evening took place in the “Neuschwansteinsaal” of the “Schlossbrauhaus”, which was accompanied musically by the “Schwangauer Brotzeitmusi”.
The main topic of the evening was the sponsorship between the community and 1./230, which has now been in existence for ten years.
To celebrate this, not only the mayor of Schwangau Stefan Rinke (CSU) and his predecessor Reinhold Sontheimer came, but also several members of the local council and Pastor Wolf.
Lots of joint ventures
On the part of the Bundeswehr, the commander of the GebAufKlBtl 230, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Bertram took part in the event. Two company commanders who had led this company at that time had also come from far away especially for the occasion. Mayor Rinke and the head of 1./230, Major Andreas Bille, referred in their speeches to the numerous joint ventures between the company and the community. The role of the company's "spear", Oberstabsfeldwebel Frank Rüppel, was particularly emphasized, and he made a significant contribution to ensuring that this sponsorship remains alive like no other. At the end of the day, Major Bille presented the veteran and soldier comradeship with a banner.
In the unanimous opinion of the almost 90 participants, all of whom adhered to the 3-G rule, this anniversary was an extremely worthy event that must keep its place in the annual calendar of the veterans and soldiers comradeship and the community under all circumstances.
