Almost all patients in the palliative care ward of the Helios clinics in Schwerin have tested positive for the coronavirus.
An infection had been detected in nine out of ten patients in the past few days, said a spokesman for the hospital.
According to the information, nine employees of the station have also tested positive.
In another patient who had already returned home last week, an infection has now also been detected.
Regular corona tests
Employees in wards with corona patients would generally be tested for the corona virus twice a week.
All other employees have the opportunity to do so, but are not obliged.
This also applied to the palliative care unit up to the corona evidence, said the spokesman.
It is believed that an unvaccinated employee introduced the virus.
The vaccination status of hospital staff with patient contact is at least 70 percent.
This is evident from the in-house vaccinations.
Two patients in the palliative care unit have died with a corona infection since Sunday.
However, the patients are terminally ill, so that Corona was very likely not the cause.
