The air is getting thinner for Boris Johnson: the London police are now investigating several lockdown parties in Downing Street and other government buildings.
London – The London police have launched official investigations into Prime Minister Boris Johnson's parties at the British seat of government during the corona lockdown.
Police chief Cressida Dick said on Tuesday that police are investigating "a number of events" in Downing Street and the Government Quarter.
It is about “possible violations of the Corona rules”.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been under pressure for weeks because of new reports about parties at Downing Street, despite the strict corona lockdown rules in force at the time.
He recently admitted to attending a garden party on May 20, 2020 in Parliament and apologized.
At that time, even meetings of more than two people outdoors were forbidden because of the pandemic.
A handful of Tory MPs have already openly called for a vote of no confidence in the prime minister because of the reports.
Johnson and his government have so far rejected calls for his resignation.
