Serious accident when overtaking: cyclist is hit frontally by the car

A cyclist from Munich was hit by a car near Eching.

The woman was seriously injured in the fall.

– A cyclist was seriously injured in an accident that occurred on Thursday.

As reported by the Neufahrn police, the affected 49-year-old from Munich was traveling from Lohhof towards Eching at 2:10 p.m.

A 66-year-old from the Freising district drove his car in the same direction.

"When he wanted to overtake the cyclist, she suddenly swerved to the left, so that she was hit head-on by the car," reports the police.

"Due to the sudden deflection, the driver had no opportunity to brake or swerve." In the collision with the car and the subsequent fall on the road, the cyclist was seriously injured and taken to a Munich hospital with various fractures.

According to the police, it has not yet been clarified why she drove so unexpectedly to the left.

The damage to the car caused by the accident amounts to around 5000 euros, the bicycle was only slightly damaged.
