The European teams banned from wearing OneLove bracelets by FIFA at the World Cup in Qatar "have jointly decided not to go to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport)" but are still considering their "legal" options. , confirmed the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) this Thursday.

The captains of England, Wales, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Denmark had planned to wear the armbands in a bid to promote diversity and inclusion at the World Cup in Qatar.

However, this Monday FIFA made it clear that the players would receive yellow cards if they did so and all the teams decided to withdraw from the protest.

“The seven countries whose captains planned to play with the OneLove armbands jointly decided not to go to CAS for the time being.

However, we are considering our legal options," the KNVB said in a statement to CNN.

"We will continue the OneLove campaign. Captains from the Netherlands and 9 other countries previously played with the OneLove armband during the Nations League. That competition belongs to UEFA and there was no problem," the KNVB said.

CAS confirmed to CNN through a spokesperson that "the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has not been contacted regarding the matter."
