At 7:30 a.m., the operational monitoring and rescue center (CROSS) Gris-Nez was warned by a boater that a boat had an engine failure about 5.5 km north of Calais, with 17 migrants on board.

These people were then rescued by the coastal patrolman of the maritime gendarmerie and were disembarked around 10 a.m. at the port of Calais. They were " taken care of " by the firefighters to " ensure their state of health " and by the border police.
