Sexion d'Assaut announces the release of a new album, ten years after "L'Apogée"

At the end of a complicated year, which notably saw the postponement of their great reunion tour, the rap group "Sexion d'Assaut" announced on Monday the release of "Return of the Kings", their new album, scheduled for the 14th. May 2022. This is the first record of the band led by Maître Gims and Black M for ten years and the release of "L'Apogée", in 2012.

The group has decided to set itself apart from the tradition of classic album releases: “The Return of the Kings” will not be available in streaming or in stores prior to the tour.

To get it, fans will have to visit theaters that will host the group from May 14, 2022 or can pre-order it on March 25.

Because in addition to the two dates of their flagship concert at La Défense Arena in Paris, May 14 and 15, 2022, Maître Gims and his acolytes will begin their tour on March 25, in Épernay (Marne).

It will cross France, making stops in Belgium and Switzerland, before concluding at the Zénith d'Amiens on December 18, according to BFMTV.

Fans were waiting for these dates firmly after a first postponement last May because of the Covid-19 of this reunion tour initially scheduled for July 1, 2021.

Separated in 2013, the group enjoyed resounding success in the 2010s, notably with the album “The school of vital points”, released in March 2010. After the release of “L'Apogée” in 2012, the members of Sexion d'Assaut all decided to embark on a solo career.

Their return had been announced several times, in particular by Gims himself, who had confided in an interview with Konbini in 2019, that the group was hoping for “a return” but that legal disputes with their former producer were delaying this company.
