She called him Bibi, he called her Mausi - why the 25-year-old killed a family

Last October, a young man shot five people in his home town of Kitzbühel, including his former girlfriend and her parents. A deed that becomes all the more puzzling the more you know about it.

After the last, the 16th shot, he leaves the house, drives in his black Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV to the police station in the center of Kitzbühel, places a Walther PPQ pistol, caliber nine millimeters, on the counter in the reception room, plus 20 cartridges of the Manufacturer Sellier & Bellot, a spare magazine, a lighter, a jumping knife, a folding knife and a craft knife and says: "I have just shot five people."

Andreas E. is 25 years old, 1.83 meters tall, has light brown hair, no beard, and a boyish face. He works as a bricklayer for a local construction company, likes the music of Andreas Gabalier, salted popcorn and cars. His iPhone lock screen reads, "Depressed sometimes? Driving a V8 - It always helps." He smokes Lucky Strike cigarettes, watches "The Simpsons" and plays "Grand Theft Auto" with his friends on the Playstation. Andi was a perfectly normal young man, says one of these friends.

Andreas E. explains to the police officers, according to the indictment, that the dead are his ex-girlfriend, her brother, her parents and a man he does not know. He makes a calm, slightly tearful impression on the officials. He gives the address of the house, Walsenbachweg 44, past the Vordergrub towards the Kitzbüheler Horn. Then he is taken to a holding cell. It's just after 6 a.m. on October 6, 2019, Thanksgiving Sunday. It is getting dark outside, the weather will be fine.
