. In addition, a bonus should create incentives for companies to get employees back from short-time working earlier or even to hire new employees. The declared goal: Avoid unemployment, secure jobs and support the upswing.
Because even if the incidences are currently pleasantly low, many industries are still suffering from the consequences of the corona pandemic.
Many shops are still closed, sales are only slowly picking up again for many - therefore, according to Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU), there is also further help, as he announced on Wednesday according to the German Press Agency.
Short-time work allowance extended, bonus: Which decisions affect employees
The following points of the resolutions are of particular interest to employees:
Short-time work allowance:
Companies can continue to make use of the simplified access conditions for short-time work allowance if they introduce short-time work by September 30th (initially, the simplified access conditions should expire on June 30th). To do this,
at least ten percent of employees
must be
affected by the loss of work
(normally 30 percent). Temporary workers can also receive short-time allowance. There is also no need to build up minus hours before granting short-time work benefits
.
If companies have already been on short-time work a short time beforehand, there must be a three-month break in between.
Increase in short-time allowance: In
contrast, the registration deadline for the corona-related increase in short-time allowance was not extended.
"Anyone who has already received short-time work benefits for the first time in March 2021 at the latest, the money will be increased to up to 87 percent of the net wage by December 31," reports the dpa.
Bonus:
The newly introduced “restart bonus” is intended for companies
encourage employees to withdraw from short-time work or hire new ones.
This is intended as a subsidy for the resulting increase in personnel costs.
The amount of the grant is staggered and decreases until September.

New rules
In addition, with the resolutions passed, the
bridging
aid
III
for companies was
extended until the end of September
and significantly increased financially - now under the name
"Bridging Aid III Plus".
Through this, the companies get
as well as self-employed non-repayable subsidies for fixed operational costs (such as rents, leases, expenses for electricity, etc.).
The
restart aid for self-employed soloists
