Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called for the opening of an international investigation into the circumstances of the martyrdom of the prisoner Saadia Matar in the Damon prison.
"We demand the international human rights committees to open an investigation into the circumstances of Matar's martyrdom and to put pressure on the occupation authorities to release all female prisoners, especially the sick and children," Shtayyeh said in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency.
For its part, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the international community, the International Red Cross, and all relevant UN institutions, organizations and councils, including the Security Council and the Human Rights Council, to assume their legal and moral responsibilities towards the deliberate medical neglect that Palestinian prisoners are subjected to in the occupation’s detention centers and to take the necessary measures to ensure their protection and release. immediate about them.
Matar was martyred this morning as a result of the deliberate medical neglect policy pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities against prisoners.
