Diego Simeone claims: Barcelona's squad is still "dreamy" and still needs to aim high, despite the departure of Leo Messi. The Atletico Madrid coach was interviewed last night (Wednesday) by the Argentine media and explained why lowering expectations at Barça is nothing more than "excuses", he said.
"So why did they lose Messi? Look at their squad - Sergi Roberto, Serginio Dest, Pique, Langela, Araujo, Alba, talents like Patti, Pedry, Gabby, Balde, proven players like Dembele, Aguero, De "Jung, Memphis and Coutinho. So they lost Messi? It does not really matter. We have never had a player like Leo, so do not want to," he said.
Simeone went on to explain why even for Barça's infamous defensive squad much more could be taken out. "Omtiti is a great player, he is going through a difficult period but still braked at a very high level. The same goes for Langela. He is a very significant player. We must not forget the achievements he has achieved in the past. How can they be underestimated? come on".
