Germany is in fourth place in the medal table of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf.
Ski jumpers contributed two of the three medals won.
And there can be more, in the evening (5 p.m.) the competition for the men on the large hill is on.
And yet there are increasing voices at the German Ski Association (DSV) who look to the coming years with concern.
With Karl Geiger and Markus Eisenbichler, there are still two jumpers among the world's best.
The German team is also well positioned across the board.
But what about the offspring?
At the Junior World Championships in Finland at the beginning of February, the best German jumper landed in 21st place, in the team Germany came last.
It doesn't look much better with women.
National coach Andreas Bauer, who announced his departure after the last competition in Oberstdorf, had led the German ski jumpers to the top of the world, thanks to Carina Vogt and Katharina Althaus, the medal yield was enormous, especially at major events.
But the connection was missed: Norway, Austria and Slovenia passed by, the female offspring in Finland were only marginally better than their male colleagues.
