Former ski mountaineering champion Adèle Milloz, an aspiring 26-year-old French mountain guide, died together with another 30-year-old mountaineer following an accident on the
Chamonix
(France) side of the Mont Blanc massif.
The bodies of the two victims,
both French
, were found late Friday afternoon along a slope of the Aiguille du Peigne (3,192 meters).
The alarm was raised by other mountaineers who traveled the same normal route and who were then evacuated in a state of shock.
The causes of the fall are not known at the moment.
The French gendarmerie, who intervened on the spot by helicopter from Chamonix, excluded - reported the French media - the possibility of detachment of a landslide, adding that the climb was not prohibited.

Milloz, originally from Tignes (Savoie) was world champion in sprint and individual ski mountaineering in 2017, European champion 2018 in sprint and fifth at Pierra Menta 2018. She was training at the national ski and mountaineering school in Chamonix to become a mountain guide .
The final internship for the validation of his diploma was supposed to start on August 15th.
