Traffic improved in stations on Monday, the day after a fatal accident that paralyzed traffic for several hours on Sunday.

The situation is improving in the stations after the fatal accident on a site of the RER C and D at Massy Palaiseau on Sunday.

According to the SNCF, the train service will be "almost normal" in the morning between the stations of Massy and Paris-Montparnasse and the west of France, said a spokesperson for the SNCF.

However, "some deletions will still be possible in the morning," he added.

There were only "very few reductions" Monday morning, according to the SNCF: a train for Poitiers from Paris whose passengers were "postponed" in a train to Bordeaux, as well as "some small reductions at the start of the province time "for traffic to return to normal.

"All the teams remained mobilized last night to be able to reposition the TGV trainsets, the personnel, in the right place, at the right time, so that we can ensure an almost normal service," added the spokesperson.

It seems, however, that difficulties persist on the network, as evidenced by several travelers on social networks.

@SNCF @ouisncf when will traffic from the West to Paris be restored?

because all my trains have been deleted since last night while you have not indicated any more problems on your site since this morning

At the end of Sunday afternoon, an engineer from SNCF Réseau was buried during a landslide near the tracks on the construction site of a bridge in Massy-Palaiseau (Essonne).

According to the Essonne firefighters, the collapse took place in a drilling site of more than thirty meters.

The environment was "unstable" and "difficult to access" due to heavy rainfall in recent days.

The deceased victim was buried.

The investigation was opened to search for the causes of death, said Caroline Nisand, the prosecutor of Evry.

Immediately on Sunday, around thirty trains, up to 70 TGVs and tens of thousands of passengers in total were immobilized sometimes for several hours.

In the evening, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, the Minister for Transport announced that traffic had resumed. “We were able to restart the traffic and in particular to re-implement the high-speed tunnel. Monday traffic will be more or less normal on the whole network, in particular the southwest and Atlantic networks, ”he explained.
