- The dementia week has been running in Neufahrn since Friday.
Up to and including Sunday, September 26th, various events and various formats will be used on site to provide information about which and how many offers are available in the community on this important topic.
The children's group of the after-school care center sang “Es rattle the mill” and a quartet from the Neufahrn / Hallbergmoos music school played classical pieces - that was the musical setting for the opening on Rathausplatz.
Dementia, said Heilmeier in his opening speech, is an "illness that sends a cold shiver down your spine".
1.6 million people are affected in Germany, and around 900 new cases are added every day.
And that is why it is important to show what offers and help are available in Neufahrn - from the social station to the churches to the library and Vhs.
Training to strengthen and maintain concentration
Immediately after the opening, the guests had the opportunity to keep fit through physical and mental exercises and to learn how to prevent dementia.

The social station plays an important role in the community: After a specialist lecture on dealing with dementia and a music café for relatives and those affected at the weekend, trial days and information talks in the "SenTa" (senior citizens' day-meeting ) and care talks with the outpatient care service of the social station.
Thursday is all about family afternoon
On Tuesday at 4 p.m. there will be a service in the Protestant church for those affected and their relatives (“You, God, don't forget me”), on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Jo Mihaly Middle School there will be a specialist lecture by the consumer advice center Neufahrn -Service Bayern with the title “Financial Aid in Need of Long-Term Care”. Also on Thursday there will be a family afternoon (from 4 p.m.) with a reading from Martin Baltscheit's picture book entitled “The story of the fox who lost his mind”. The Neufahrn clothing store wants to deliver “Anhalt points” with its QR code campaign in public space, while the adult education center has opened its dementia information pavilion at Bahnhofstrasse 32 all the days.
