Delivery problems delay the installation of the MVG bike stations.
Nevertheless, the community wants to make the bikes available this year
Poing - At the meeting in June 2019, the Poingen municipal council unanimously decided to “introduce the MVG Rad bike rental system” and commissioned the administration with the necessary planning.
In July, the councils decided at the municipal council meeting that the purpose agreement with the state capital Munich "to coordinate the use of rental bikes in the region of both local authorities" as well as the associated "implementation agreement for the construction and operation of MVG bike stations in Poing" will be concluded.
The four locations are fixed: the north / south market station (ten bikes), Bergfeldsee / Bergfeldstrasse between W5 / W6 and the EBV / Avnet industrial area (five bikes each) and wildlife park (ten bikes).
“They are to be set up this year as well,” announced Mayor Thomas Stark at the latest municipal council meeting.
According to a statement from the public utility company, the project has "unfortunately been delayed a little due to resource bottlenecks on the world market and the first steles can be delivered and installed in the second half of October".
As the relevant civil engineering work has not yet started due to these delays, the implementation of the measure is postponed - but should be completed this year.
When the time comes, the rental fee for the MVG bike costs eight cents a minute.
