For all the benefits of a "main box office", the complex is hardly entertaining, very predictable, does not really reach its heights, not very deep and not very brave

Sorry I'm breaking a huge taboo, but "Headline" is a reasonable series and nothing more

"Kupa Rashit" boasts a great ensemble that includes some of the greatest and most beloved comedic actors in Israel, past and present legends, who enter the characters in a total way, and the chemistry between them is really great and elicits a smile - but the whole is hardly entertaining, very predictable. brave

"Kupa Rashit" Season 3 - The opening segment (here 11)

The infantile Amnon Titinski gets into trouble again because he needs a bottle of bleach bottle and has to buy a whole bottle, Nissim and Anatoly's butcher stops working until it is decided which of the two is more handsome, Shira Steinbuch tries to show how enlightened she is and gets involved in racist incidents. Colleagues in Krav Maga class. Yes, the dysfunctional writer in Yavne, where everyone despises everyone and especially the management, returned yesterday for a third season.

It's hard to ignore the fact that since it broke into our lives, "Kupa Rashit" has become an extraordinary cult phenomenon on Israeli television, with a fan base willing to swear by the words "Shefa Issachar," memorizing punches and returning to watch again. The consensus that this is such a huge series is so sweeping, and the enthusiasm for the series is so great that it is almost hard to find anyone with a different opinion.

But why?

Sorry if I break some huge taboo, sorry, I really tried, but it must be said: "Headline" is a reasonable, likable situation comedy and nothing more, really funny only here and there and not so original.

The King may not be naked, but he certainly does not wear Prada.

The gap between hype and reality is just ridiculous.

We will emphasize: it's not that she's particularly terrible, and it's true that the shelf of embarrassing Israeli comedies is appallingly modest, but the gap between the hype and reality is simply ridiculous. Certainly, there is a great ensemble that includes some of the greatest and most beloved comedic actors in Israel, truly revered past and present legends, that go into the characters totally, and the chemistry between them is really great and evocative - but the whole is hardly entertaining, and very predictable (any attempt will end in failure) , Does not really reach peaks (the funniest line yesterday: "The one who rejects Momo Popo"), not very deep and not very brave.

The two episodes that aired yesterday in a row illustrated this, making it clear that the main motif of the series is the abuse of its characters.

Principal Shira Steinbuch is repeatedly humiliated in the second episode, by the staff in the room and also get along with a committee.

A star gets beaten up.

Miracles and Anatoly hear throughout an entire episode how unattractive they are.

And Titinsky, after all, he goes into a recycling box of bottles just so as not to pay for a cork, as passersby stare at it.

It's unpleasant to watch, and at times also nasty, but also - and mostly - not really entertaining.

Is that what speaks to so many people?

To me personally not so much.

One can only hope that in the future they will sell better goods at Shefa Issachar.
