(ANSA) - MADRID, JUN 18 - Isabel Díaz Ayuso of the Spanish Popular Party has been elected as the new president of the Madrid region thanks to the votes in favor of her formation and the ultra-right of Vox. The Iberian media reported it.
Ayuso, outgoing president, won the last administrative elections, held on May 4th; she called them herself in advance after two years of legislature. Today he obtained 77 votes in favor, 8 more than the 69 needed to reach an absolute majority.
In the last legislature Ayuso ruled together with the liberals of Ciudadanos, while now she will be able to govern alone.
