Caviar, champagne or gold steak: When it comes to the tastes of Hollywood stars, the average consumer usually thinks of the noblest of nobility. But Meryl Streep can obviously make you happy with a much more profane snack. At least that's the story that actress Florence Pugh told about filming together on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
For the movie "Little Women", the two women would have shot a scene in a park. They had worn "huge hoop skirts" and waited for the filming to finally continue. In this situation, Streep apparently got an appetite: "I remember it was cold and she said, 'I'd just kill for some French fries,'" Pugh said.
According to her acting colleague, Streep almost fulfilled this request immediately: Within ten minutes, a 70-year-old production assistant - completely out of breath - brought a bag of French fries.
The collaboration with the Oscar winner Streep was apparently something special for her younger colleague: "I would not say that I was afraid of her," said the 23-year-old. "But she is a legendary woman." She stared at Streep's face during the shoot, when she was supposed to be acting.
