Spotify has unveiled Greenroom, its version of Clubhouse.

An app that wants to put the creators of audio, music and podcast content in contact with the public, following the boom conveyed by the Clubhouse itself.

In March of this year, Spotify announced the acquisition of Betty Labs, developers of Locker Room, an app similar to Clubhouse but dedicated to sports.

Greenroom is the renewed version of the original project, which now turns to music. Spotify Greenroom will be available in the coming weeks on iOS and Android in over 135 markets around the world. In a blog post, the company explains, "We thought of Greenroom with the creators and artists who make Spotify great in mind, with a desire to simplify interactivity and connections between live room attendees."

The operation is practically the same as Clubhouse: you sign up, with your Spotify or Facebook account, without the invitation system, and decide which room to enter or create your own. A calendar menu will update on the events being started, based on your friends and the preferences indicated during the first registration phase. Obviously, Greenhouse works in the background, like Spotify, enjoying listening even when using other applications or the phone screen is off. The 'hosts' of a room can record conversations, give the floor to the public and possibly ban users who do not respect the rules of use. Spotify also announced Creator Fund, the integrated program that will help creatives monetize their work.

Based on the number of listeners and the fanbase, the company will pay creators, as does Clubhouse with its own remuneration program.
