Penzberg – The Penzberger Stadtwerke are investing in e-mobility.

The charging network is being expanded.

There will soon be six new stations – four pillars are already in operation.

The four new charging stations with a maximum charging capacity of 22 kW "are strategically located," according to a statement from the municipal company.

You will find them at the Huberer Weiher car park (where the mobile homes used to be) near the A95 motorway, at the town hall and on Bahnhofstraße opposite Christkönigskirche and at the Sparkasse.

At the old slaughterhouse on Karlstraße, the public utility company is installing a so-called DC charging station.

According to the company, future customers will be able to charge the batteries of their electric cars "particularly quickly" with a maximum charging capacity of 150 kW.

The conversion of the existing charging station at the Rewe supermarket on Bichler Straße to a uniform standard is also being planned.

Each charging station has two charging points, so charging is possible around the clock.

Environmentally friendly green electricity

"It is very important to us to support the traffic turnaround and the Penzberg local climate protection law - also because the customers at our charging stations fill up with 100 percent environmentally friendly green electricity," assures Stadtwerke CEO André Behre.

The municipal company has invested around 60,000 euros in the six new charging stations – four standard and two fast-charging systems.

This sum is called by Isabelle Zapp from Stadtwerke Public Relations at the request of the Rundschau.

Investments by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure have already been deducted.
