The Starnberg Christmas Market and the Eiszauber have been canceled due to the current Corona situation - private initiatives and business people, the City Initiative and the City of Starnberg want to conjure up at least a little Advent atmosphere in the city center with an alternative program.

Therefore, from Saturday, November 27th, there will be several campaigns.

Santa Claus campaign by the City Initiative:

A Santa Claus distributes gingerbread to young and old Starnbergers on all four Saturdays in Advent between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. They are made by the traditional bakery Lidl according to an old Bavarian royal recipe and come with a five-euro shopping voucher, which can be redeemed in 14 participating shops until the end of the year (from a purchase of 25 euros). This includes Spielhaus Starnberg, Stadt-Apotheke, Modehaus Klöpfer, Wiener's der Kaffee-Röster, Sport Lier, Vodafone Shop Starnberger See, Petite Maison, Blickpunkt, Les Petite Fleurs, Raphael Apotheke, Lotus Restaurant and dry cleaning Marincovic.

New snack bar and

organ grinder

:

The Thursday and Saturday weekly market is now being strengthened by the food truck “Cook mal!” Owned by Hendrik Glatz from Starnberg, where he offers fresh Thai curries.

On the Saturdays of Advent, the Backhaus Cramer also offers spelled butter stollen and freshly roasted almonds.

An organ grinder has announced that it will be on Saturday, November 27th, Friday, December 3rd, Saturday, December 11th, and Saturday, December 18th.

Walk-in advent calendar:

Bettina Kultermann, who works in retail, has launched a walk-in Advent calendar in cooperation with the City Initiative and the Kreissparkasse. Shops, restaurants and companies around the church square become doors themselves. They offer Christmas surprises from December 1st until Christmas Eve. Also included are: Bücherjolle, Lil Green Kitchen, Tchibo, Benetton, Café Luna, Kreissparkasse Starnberg, gwt Starnberg, Viva Maria + Frog, tattoo studio "Der Monarch", Perfumery Wiedemann, Dragonfly, Zauberhaft deluxe, Eiswerkstatt Starnberg, Blickpunkt and Petite Maison. The advent calendar is supplemented by a Christmas tree sponsorship. The participating shops receive small Nordmann firs with roots in jute sacks, which are decorated by elementary school students from Starnberg. The trees linger in front of the shops until Christmas Eve - afterwards the schools take care of the trees and put them in the forest in spring.

Magical art event: Photo

artist Indi Herbst wants to offer the youth an alternative to dreary times with her gallery on the church square. Highlights include a children's vernissage (December 4th and 5th), the newly launched Autumn Youth Art Prize and an Advent raffle for children (December 4th), an imaginative children's art exhibition (December 4th to 19th) ) and an Advent reading with author Vanessa Lange. There will also be a free Xmas pop-up photo box on December 18th. More information: www.herbstgalerie.com.

Advent

window

:

Every Sunday in Advent and on Christmas Eve, the city library reveals a window picture depicting winter and Christmas motifs.

The pictures are clearly visible from the main street and are atmospherically illuminated in the evening from 5pm to 10pm.

They were made by groups from the Kindergarten am Hirschanger, the Maria Kempter Kindergarten, the Irmgard Stadler Kindergarten, the Starnberg play island and the Evangelical Kindergarten.

Clay and tracing paper were used as craft material.

As a thank you, the hard-working hobbyists will be rewarded with the wintry Kamishibai story “Little Santa Claus”.

"Winter Christmas with King and Empress - a listening walk for the whole family in the Starnberg Castle Garden:

How did Empress Sisi and King Ludwig II celebrate Christmas? What are their wishes? And how did you make other people happy with gifts? The romantic audio walk takes visitors into the Christmas world at the Wittelsbach court. It leads through a fairytale shining world of the fairy tale king and empress and at the same time shows that not everything was golden there either. Artists from the Starnberg Art Association Die Roseninsel create a Christmas atmosphere and illuminate the audio tour with light art. The individual chapters are illuminated with nine silhouettes by the Starnberg illustrator Matthias Schilling. The starting point of the walk are two luminous sculptures by the Portuguese artist Paulo de Brito in the middle of the garden. In addition to the splendid ball gown as a symbol for the empress, a splendid swan, symbol for the king, spreads its wings. The castle garden, decorated for Christmas, opens on December 10th. mm
