The State Youth Orchestra of Saxony (LJO) plays its traditional autumn concerts in the second half of October.
At the concerts from October 22nd to 24th, the young musicians will perform under the direction of the Swiss Tobias Engeli, the LJO announced on Monday in Dresden.
The program includes works by Franz Schubert, Georg Philipp Telemann, Igor Stravinsky, Ernst Krenek and Rodion Schtschedrin.
Dresden - the soloist is the pianist Kilian Scholla.
The venues are the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Chemnitz Petrikirche and the Kulturpalast Dresden.
The State Youth Orchestra of Saxony was founded in 1992 and serves as a contact point for ambitious youngsters.
The members are between 14 and 26 years old, and many of them have already won prizes in competitions.
In two trial phases per year, programs are developed alternately with the artistic director and alternating guest conductors.
