Tonight (Monday through Tuesday) Steph Kerry recorded another tremendous chapter in his career and the personal history he has built in recent years when he became the all-time Golden State points champion, after overtaking Wilt Chamberlain thanks to another electrifying performance with 53 points in a 107: 116 victory over Denver .
Chamberlain's record, who in his six years in the Golden State uniform played in the years 1959-1965 scored 17,783 points, was broken by Kerry during the first quarter in which one of the greatest players of the last generation sniped 21 points.
"I'm just starting to digest everything that's happened to me in the last 12 years, all the players I played with, all the coaches who coached me, the owners, the fans," Kerry said on the verge of tears.
"I had amazing experiences here, and breaking that record, it's no less amazing," he added.
The star of the night added: "Every time you hear the name of Wilt Chamberlain, you start from the premise that you can not touch his highs. Although I played here six years more than him, but still the thought that I overtook me, is completely disturbed. It is a surreal experience. Amazing "To think I've been playing here my whole career, it's amazing to think how much I've been through here. It's crazy."
Steve Kerr, Kerry's coach and one of the biggest influences on his career greeted: "It's amazing. Steph does things no one has ever done. No one has scored like him. He can score from anywhere, anytime, in any situation, in front of any guard, and that's it. Pretty crazy. It's hard to believe he's hitting shots the way he's scoring. It's just an amazing achievement, and it's a testament to the huge impact he's had on the team in those 12 years. Bypassing Wilt Chamberlain is not easy, he dominates most NBA records. But Steph is a legend in itself. "

Kevin Durant who collaborated with Kerry at Golden State and won 2 championships with him was excited for his friend.
"With the work he puts into the game, I knew it was going to come sometime. The way he plays, breaking records feels like the obvious. It was just a matter of time," the Brooklyn player said today.
"Seeing him do it all in one team throughout his career, it's special," he added.
17,784 points & counting.
The most ever by a Golden State Warrior.
