Two and a half weeks before the start of the Euroleague season, and three weeks after the start of the preparation, Maccabi Tel Aviv will go up tonight (Monday, 18:30) for its first preparation game for the 2020/21 season when it meets Hapoel Holon in Yad Eliyahu.
The game will be the first of two for the Yellows, when on Friday, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the team will play another game against Hapoel Haifa, and a week later will open its appearances in the eighth finals of the Winner's Cup.
The squad that will be at the disposal of Yannis Sapropoulos for today's game is far from full.
Elijah Bryant is still a few weeks back from action, and even captain John Dibertolomao who missed significant parts of last season due to two injuries is still not expected to play.
The one who is expected to get on the field is Omri Caspi, who has returned from an injury that has sidelined him since December, and has been training fully for the past month and a half.
Three players will make their debut in yellow - guard Chris Jones, forward Oz Blazer and chin Ante Zizic.

The team continues to search for a player in position number 4 who will complete the roster in place of Quincy Icy who has left.
Maccabi does not intend to sign a player who will not be suitable just to fill the roster, and the fact that the opening of next season in the NBA has been postponed, makes it a little difficult for them.
However, club officials estimate that it is possible that by the first game of the Euroleague, against Alba Berlin on Thursday, October 1, a player will be signed.
At the same time, Maccabi Tel Aviv is waiting for answers from the Ministry of Sports regarding the exclusion of the football and basketball leagues and the teams participating in Europe from the general closure.
If the teams are not excluded, Maccabi is expected to go to Europe before the closure, probably to Greece, and prepare there for the start of the season and probably host the first games of the season there as well.
This week, Maccabi Tel Aviv signed a sponsorship agreement with Multilock for NIS 400,000.
As part of the agreement, the "locked" move of the team's Euroleague game cycle will be selected every week under the auspices of Multilock.
The agreement will also include advertising on the field, the team's visit to the Multilock factory in Yavne and collaborations for the community with the participation of representatives of the team's players.
Today, the club announced a strategic agreement with Thelma Tourism, which will handle the group's charter flights and later also the fans who will fly with the team to its away games.
