Snow in the Alps, lots of rain and stormy winds in Bavaria: It will remain uncomfortable in Bavaria for the next few days - and at the Wiesn.

Munich – September says goodbye to the 2022 calendar year – and it will not end on a happy note.

And so it is also clear that this year's Oktoberfest - apart from a very few sunny days - mostly fell through.

No wonder that mulled wine has also been served since Sunday.

If you follow the weather report from the German Weather Service (DWD), you can keep it warm until the weekend.

Weather in Bavaria: From snow to rain, everything is uncomfortable

“Initially, there will be widespread rain, later repeated showers, and isolated brief thunderstorms are likely.

Polar sea air then flows in” – this is how the DWD begins the warning report for Bavaria on Tuesday, September 27th.

No good prospects for the days leading up to the weekend.

On Tuesday it will be windy to stormy in the western regions of Bavaria.

Storm gusts can therefore occur, especially in the Alpine regions.

There is also a "low risk" of thunderstorms, locally with squalls and hail.

In the Alps, especially in the Allgäu, there is now fresh snow again, during the day from 1500 meters, at night from 1400 meters.

"Official Warning" for Munich - Lots of rain in Bavaria

For the entire Tuesday, there is an “official warning” against gusts of wind from the DWD in southern Bavaria, including Munich.

In addition, it will probably also be very wet and cold.

Dominik Jung describes it as a "very, very mixed Tuesday" in the latest weather video from

wetternet

on YouTube.

The temperatures are meanwhile only around 11 frosty degrees.

In the night of Wednesday, the rain in southern Germany will turn into continuous rain, said Jung.

And no improvement on Wednesday: "Mostly cloudy in the south," said the meteorologist.

The temperatures are around 12 degrees.

This rain trend will continue until Friday, and there can always be rain showers in Bavaria, explains Jung, at around 10 degrees.

And even on the last day of September, Friday, September 30th, it will remain frosty and cloudy at best - if it doesn't rain again in between.

Outlook for the weekend: Gracious October?

A cautious forecast for the first weekend in October: it will remain changeable.

The weather map in

wetternet

's YouTube video doesn't look quite as gloomy as it did in the last few days of September, but the temperatures are still quite low and there will probably be a few rays of sunshine alternating with rain and dense clouds.

While Oktoberfest fans will probably be pretty sad about these prospects, Jung can at least get something out of it.

Because the trend reversal means above all: relaxation for nature.

In the meantime, it was thought that the drought would never end - but nature "always clarifies everything among itself," says the meteorologist.
