Gmund / Bad Wiessee / District

- With heavy rain, hurricane-like storms, lightning and thunder, the storm hit the Miesbach district on Saturday evening (July 24th). District Fire Councilor Anton Riblinger counted a total of nine fire brigades - spread across the entire district. Mainly the activists had to move out to remove fallen trees that blocked roads. Fortunately, the district citizens were spared from flooding despite the sometimes heavy rain. “We didn't have a full cellar,” reports Riblinger.

There was a major operation in the course of the evening - the storm raged between about 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. - in the community of Gmund.

In the St. Quirin area, a tree fell on the tracks and caused disabilities.

The Gmund fire brigade came to remove the obstacle.

Bad Wiessee was also hit harder.

There the power went out in parts of the community after the storm.

Employees of the E-Werk were able to repair the damage quickly, as Mayor Robert Kühn acknowledged in a Facebook post.

Even at the moment, the emergency services are still on the alert.

From Sunday afternoon (July 25th), some heavy thunderstorms are expected again from the Alps.

According to the German Meteorological Service, heavy heavy rain, hagen and heavy gusts of wind up to 100 km / h must be expected locally.
