2021-06-24T03:24:13.966Z

The stormy episode was as brief as it was violent this late Saturday afternoon in Île-de-France. But it is the Val-de-Marne that has concentrated

The thunder shook the Ile-de-France this Saturday at the end of the afternoon.

The storm announced by Météo France was indeed there.

But it is in the east, mainly in Val-de-Marne and Seine-et-Marne that lightning hit according to the site meteociel.fr which lists the impacts.

The Paris firefighters thus received a very large number of calls from 94, south of Seine-Saint-Denis.

And just a few calls from Paris.

#Alfortville - Lots of damage due to bad weather.

A municipal crisis unit at the request of the mayor @luccarvounas was immediately operational to assist the victims and clear the streets.

The bulk of the interventions concerned shortly before 8 p.m. materials threatening to fall on the public highway and some flooding.

But it was in Alfortville that efforts were concentrated, rue de Grenoble, where a 600 square meter roof surmounting a five-story building collapsed, slightly injuring two people.

Torn trees and flooded roads

To respond to this situation, the town hall has set up a crisis unit. In this city, the most affected in Val-de-Marne by the late afternoon storm, "the facades of buildings would be badly damaged and balconies would have collapsed" specifies the town hall. The Blanqui and Revolution quays, along the Seine, are now closed to traffic and heavy traffic jams are starting to form. The mayor (PS) Luc Carvounas, must go in the evening rue de Grenoble to see the damage and take the most urgent measures. "All the agents of the city's technical services are mobilized to evacuate the uprooted trees and what could be dangerous," he explains. We also deplore a lot of flooded cellars. The department and the Greater Paris Sud Est Avenir area also mobilize staff,in particular to act on the banks of the Seine. "

The city will have to find a place to shelter those most affected, but the gymnasium closest to the buildings with the roof torn off is also flooded.

“In addition to the crisis unit, we will immediately call all the seniors on the heat wave file to make sure that they do not have urgent needs.

"

In Champigny-sur-Marne, trees were uprooted.

And we can no longer count the flooded roads in Boissy-Saint-Léger or Emérainville (Seine-et-Marne) where drivers, surprised have spun on the Ile-de-France.

The storm continued its course towards the East and Seine-et-Marne causing damage, in the space of less than thirty minutes, in particular in Saint-Pathus and Meaux.

In Champigny, the storm would only have caused material damage but trees were uprooted by the storm. FB Mayor of Champigny
