Despite numerous support, the editorial staff of Europe 1 went on strike until Monday against the dismissal of a journalist resulted in little disruption on the air on Saturday.
According to the management of the Lagardère group radio, joined by AFP, the programs were broadcast almost normally because the editorial staff has a majority of non-strikers.

On weekends at Europe 1, it is “
mainly fixed-term contracts and freelancers who provide the antenna
”, explained a journalist who wished to remain anonymous.
However, "
the strikers have abundantly advised the precarious not to strike" out of "fear of reprisals
", he added.
Newspapers also seem to have been shortened and "

added one of his colleagues.
The employees of the station gathered in general assembly (AG) Friday had voted almost unanimously to strike to protest against a disciplinary procedure targeting a journalist, after an altercation with an employee of human resources.
A general meeting is scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. to decide on the consequences of the movement, which occurs against a background of growing unease, between the departure plan and the proposed merger with the news channel CNews (Canal + group), controlled by Vincent Bolloré, the main shareholder of Lagardère.
