The opposition is pushing for the resignation of the interior minister.

Because he gave a lawyer's letter to the press in the inspector of police affair.

Now Strobl has to explain himself to the investigation committee - but everyone is waiting for the public prosecutor's vote.

Stuttgart - The appearance is eagerly awaited: Baden-Württemberg's Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) has to testify before the investigative committee on the police affair from 10 a.m. today.

It is primarily about investigations into the highest-ranking police officer in the country, the inspector of police, for sexual harassment.

The man is said to have sexually harassed a colleague and is therefore suspended from work.

But Strobl is also indirectly under pressure because of the matter - he passed on a letter from the inspector's lawyer to a journalist and initially denied it.

The public prosecutor's office is therefore also investigating against him.

The accusation: He is said to have instigated the journalists to quote from the case files.

The opposition is therefore demanding Strobl's resignation and wants to put him under pressure in the U-Committee.

The panel is to shed light on sexual harassment by the police as well as the practice of promotion and the actions of Strobl.

The decision of the public prosecutor's office in Stuttgart is decisive for the further political fate of the 62-year-old CDU state leader.

However, it is unclear when this will come.
