Parents with prams: expensive is not automatically better

Strollers can cost a small fortune.
The industry often advertises with design and style, the prices are sometimes well over 1000 euros.
But not every stylish or hip pram is good for the offspring, according to the Stiftung Warentest.
In a comparison of twelve station wagons between 400 and 1300 euros, many models were particularly noticeable with uncomfortable seats
»test« issue 7/22, you can find the original of the article here.
The seats can therefore often not be folded into a flat, back-friendly lounger.
As a result, the baby's knees point upwards.
The little ones can hardly move or turn to the side.
"No adult would voluntarily take a nap in the afternoon," says the test report.
In four models, the carrycot is also too small.
The result: "Babies bump their heads or feet after just four to five months," according to the testers.
»They then find less rest, react restless, overexcited and cry easily.«
pollutants in the hood
In one of the tested cars, the rain cover even contained pollutants.
In the laboratory, the testers discovered that the concentration of short-chain chlorinated paraffins was too high.
The verdict is »inadequate«.
Three models do not get beyond "sufficient", another five not beyond "satisfactory".
In the end, only the “BabyOne BO StartKlar Comet” (grade 2.2) for 400 euros and the “Hauck Vision X Set” (grade 2.5) for 500 euros got a “good”.
They are, of all things, the two cheapest strollers in the test - and yet designed to be child-friendly, compact and light.
