Strong story by Guillermo Coppola: 'I shower with the oxygen tank'

The former manager was announced that he will have to live with 'oxygen for life' assistance and told of the serious consequences that the coronavirus left him.

At the beginning of this year,

Guillermo Coppola (73) contracted coronavirus on the Argentine coast

, but he went through it with mild symptoms.

However, in March, two months after he recovered, the health of Diego Maradona's ex-manager became complicated and he

had to be admitted to intensive care

.  

"On March 13, I was admitted to the hospital at the recommendation of the professionals, I had a CT scan and my lungs were crystallized. They took

me to intensive care where I was two months after the virus.

I was in therapy for 12 days, very serious, I could not walk a meter without oxygen, "said Coppola in dialogue with Radio Rivadavia.

Guillermo's health problem was the result of

pulmonary fibrosis caused by the coronavirus.


After discharge, the businessman had to face an arduous recovery process.

"I left for March 25 and began post-Covid work, post-hospitalization, with a professional who is dedicated to this and

is giving me my breath back,

" he said.  

Coppola was infected in the summer and in March, two months later, he had to be hospitalized for pulmonary complications.

I used oxygen for 24 hours and slowly I go down

and do physical work. The professional does what he knows how to do and he is giving me my breath back.

. I put on my mustache and don't turn on the tank. so I am improving, "he explained.  

Regarding his future, Guillermo revealed that the doctors announced that he will need "oxygen for life" and will have to continue with pulmonary rehabilitation treatment.

"When I left I said

'that's what it is, I'm going to have to live with Chirolita (as I call my little team) all my life'

. At first it hits you, but there are things that have to be overcome".

Celebrations, social gatherings and Maradona's wake

Coppola admitted that during the year-end celebrations he 

made several mistakes that led him to contract the virus.

A positive that was detected on January 4.

"I was locked up for nine months, I had swabbed, all negative. But the end of the year is coming ... And I

'm used to celebrating, I like to celebrate birthdays, celebrate parties, get together with friends, it's my life,

" he said in March, after contracting Covid-19.

I let myself be carried away and the consequences are these

. When it happens to you, you realize that you did something stupid. It is my responsibility and I'm the one at risk, "he confessed.

Coppola's previous public appearance with a high level of exposure was at the end of November, when he

participated in the wake and burial of his lifelong friend, Diego Maradona.
