The public prosecutor of Besançon revealed, Friday, after the indictment of two new people, that one would have sought to steal his money ... that is to say 200,000 euros in cryptocurrency.
The first three men were quickly taken into custody, recalls L'Est Républicain.
Aged 18, 23 and 33, they had been indicted for murder.
One of them, the 33-year-old lover of the victim, had first wanted to cover his tracks by claiming a homophobic attack from which he alone would have survived.
"They all admit to being involved in the death of this 19-year-old young man, even though no one admits having given the fatal blows," said prosecutor Étienne Manteaux.
On Wednesday, a new couple was arrested and then indicted for complicity: the twin of the victim's lover and his companion.
“After denying, they too recognized their involvement, while minimizing it.
They admit to having been informed of the project before the death of the victim and not to have denounced it ”, indicates the prosecutor.
Torture session?
If the circumstances of the death of the 19-year-old computer science student, residing in Poitiers, remain to be determined, the motive is all found.
"He had created software for trading in the cryptocurrency field," Gendarmerie Colonel Yves Raguin told Le Trois newspaper.
A small robot that had allowed him to generate on his account "around 200,000 euros of various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin".

According to the first three suspects arrested, the victim had lunch with the recently arrested couple. She would then have been drugged. "The very many blows observed between the sternum and the lower face can attest to a torture session or a passionate gesture," revealed the prosecutor. It is also known that none of these blows was fatal in itself, and that the victim was dying when she was thrown into the pond. "
The details of the investigation are all the more absurd: the suspects, according to the authorities, had already agreed on the distribution of the loot.
The day before the student's death, he had already been the victim of a first assassination attempt, already instigated by the same suspects.
